Would you enjoy seeing handicapped people perform a dance on stage?

Tuesday, July 26th, 2011

Someone told me about a group of wheel-chair-bound people who perform specially arranged dances in churches, hospitals and other locations. I’ve never heard of such performances before. It strikes me as unusual that a handicapped person would want to perform a dance on stage for an audience. But, on the other hand, why not? Handicapped people are allowed and encouraged to take part in all kinds of activities, including sports, right? So what do you think?

My friend lives in an apartment building that doesn’t have handicapped access. Do they have to have it?

It appears the building is more than twenty years old, and it’s a 3 story apartment building in Los Angeles, CA. There are stairs but no elevator. A wheel-chair confined person could not live on the 3rd floor. What would happen if a handicapped person wanted to live on the 3rd floor? Would they sue? Curious.
